Only 57% of U.S. men attend routine medical check-ups, a new American study shows. The study, performed by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, revealed that nearly 74% of women regularly visit their doctor, which is 17% more than men. The statistics also revealed that fewer Hispanic and black men made routine medical appointments than white men. Those with private insurance were also more likely to attend regular check-ups than those lacking insurance.
A routine check-up is generally defined as a visit to the doctor, nurse practitioner och physician for assessing overall health rather than one prompted by a specific illness or complaint. A regular healch check-up can sometimes be more costly than first anticipated. That is one of the reasons
why many Americans and Europeans lately have chosen to combine a comprehensive health check-up with a vacation in another country. For instance; in Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia, executive health care check-ups are offered at as low as half to one third of the prices in the U.S. If you are interested in knowing more about health check-ups abroad; visit the Novasans website in the beginning of the fall 2010. There you will find information regarding the procedures, as well as contact details to healthcare centers all over the world providing this service.
